How to delete your Doramo account, what happens to your data when you do, and what the law requires us to keep.

This Policy is incorporated into the Doramo Terms of Service and supplements the Doramo Privacy Policy.

1How to delete your account

Open the Doramo app → Settings → Account → Delete account, and confirm. You may also request deletion by writing to privacy@doramoapp.com from the email on your account. Both paths lead to the same process.

If you cannot access your account, write to privacy@doramoapp.com; we will verify your identity before acting, to prevent someone else from deleting your account.

2What happens when you delete

Immediately: your account is deactivated. Your profile is no longer visible, you no longer appear in search or matching, and you stop receiving marketing communications.

Within 30 days: your personal information is deleted or de-identified, except as described in Section 4. This period exists so you can change your mind and so we can complete the verification and export steps below.

Cancel during the 30 days: sign back in and follow the prompt, and your account is restored.

After completion, deletion is permanent. Your profile, reviews you can edit, messages, photos, and settings cannot be recovered, and a new account starts from zero — including identity verification and any screening.

Open bookings and balances. If you have an upcoming booking, an unresolved dispute, or an outstanding balance, we may need to complete or settle it before deletion finishes. Subscription cancellation is governed by the Billing Policy; deleting your account cancels your subscription but does not by itself refund fees already paid.

3If you are a Provider — your business data comes first

Your account contains information about your own customers, properties, and personnel, which you control and Doramo processes on your behalf under the Data Processing Addendum.

Before deletion completes, Doramo makes that data available for export for the period stated in the deletion flow. After that period, it is deleted or de-identified under Section 10 of the DPA. Doramo does not keep your customer list after your account is deleted, except as Section 4 requires.

Deleting your Doramo account does not notify your customers and does not alter your own legal obligations to them.

4What we keep, and why

Deletion removes your personal information from the live Platform. The following records are retained, for the periods stated, because the law requires it or because they are needed for the specific purposes below — each already disclosed in the Privacy Policy:

RecordRetained forWhy
Billing, transaction, invoice, and tax recordsUp to 7 yearsTax and accounting law
Dispute, chargeback, and fraud-prevention recordsUntil resolved + limitation periodsDefense and resolution of claims
Background-check process records (where screening occurred)The period required by FCRA and applicable lawEvidence of the adverse-action process
Enforcement records under the Acceptable Use PolicyLimitation periodsEvidence of moderation decisions
Consent and signature records (electronic consent, biometric consent, FCRA authorization)Limitation periodsProof the consent existed
The deletion request itselfLimitation periodsProof we complied

Biometric data is destroyed faster, on its own schedule: your reference scan is destroyed within 90 days of account closure under the Biometric Data Policy, regardless of the table above.

Reviews you wrote of others may persist in de-identified form ("a former user"), because they are part of the other party's history.

Where a legal hold, investigation, or active dispute requires it, the affected records are isolated and kept only for that purpose, then deleted.

5Deletion rights under privacy law

Deleting your account is the broadest form of the deletion right granted by the privacy laws described in the Privacy Policy (Section 9). You may also request deletion of specific information without closing your account — write to privacy@doramoapp.com or use the privacy request form in the app. Statutory exceptions (the same categories as Section 4) apply, and we will tell you if we rely on one.

For information a Provider entered about you as that Provider's customer, the Provider is the controller: direct your request to the Provider, and Doramo will assist the Provider as its processor.

6Apple and Google accounts

If you signed up with Apple or Google, deleting your Doramo account removes Doramo's data but does not affect your Apple or Google account. You may also revoke Doramo's access in your Apple or Google settings; doing so does not by itself delete your Doramo account — use Section 1 for that.
